Nancy Smiler Levinson has written many popular books for young readers, including Magellan and the First Voyange Around the World and the I Can Read Books Clara and the Bookwagon, illustrated by Carolyn Croll, and Snowshoe Thompson, illustrated by Joan Sandin. She lives in Beverly Hills, California.

Few writers have made such an impression on so many generations of readers as Kate Douglas Wiggin (1856 1923). Ms. Wiggin spent her childhood in Hollis, Maine, a place very much like Rebecca s home. A devoted advocate for early childhood education, she, along with her sister, Nora, founded a school for kindergarten teachers, as well as the Salmon Falls Village Library, which still serves as the town library for Hollis.

Carolyn Croll is the distinguished illustrator of many books for children, including the I Can Read Books The Big balloon race by Eleanor Coerr and Clara and the Bookwagon by Nancy Smiler Levinson. She lives in Philadelphia, PA.
