It's a perfect day for swimming, building sand castles, and flying kites. But will this wacky family of seven ever make it to the beach? First they need to go back for Fido. Then there's the cooler full of soda. And what about Baby's beloved ducky pail? Even with all the things everyone has forgotten to bring, the unpredictable weather, and the stop-and-go traffic, this family's beach trip is sure to be the best yet. That is, if they (and all their stuff) can get there!
LINDA ASHMAN has written many acclaimed picture books, including Rub-a-Dub Sub, Starry Safari, and Babies on the Go. She grew up near the Atlantic coast, and spent many years by the Pacific, but now lives far from the beach in Denver, Colorado.
NADINE BERNARD WESTCOTT's fun and vivacious illustrations have appeared in numerous books for children, including the Farmer Brown series by Teri Sloat, the Mrs. McNosh books by Sarah Weeks, and Hello Toes! Hello Feet! by Ann Whitford Paul. She lives near the beach on Nantucket, Massachusetts.
"This gentle satire of an outgoing gone awry doesn''t forget to pack the laughs"
