Marni McGee is the author of 20 well-loved books for children, which include WINSTON THE BOOK WOLF, WHILE ANGELS WATCH, SLEEPY ME, MESSY ME and FOREST CHILD. Her work has been published in more than a dozen countries and languages. SURFERELLA is her first book for Beach Ball.
Though Marni McGee spent her growing-up years in North Carolina, she and her historian husband have lived in Santa Barbara, California, for four decades, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. Her career as a children's book writer began with stories intended for her own children, Liz and Claude. But as she wrote SURFERELLA, the energy was flowing in the other direction from her surfer-son, Claude, whose knowledge, experience and love of the ocean made the story happen.
Marni and Sears's two children are now grown and have produced four wondrous grandchildren Kai, Benton, Nami, and Peter.
