In this gutsy debut novel, flawed but unsinkable Claudia Silver cuts a wide comic swath in her misguided attempts to find love and security in 1990s New York City.
Kathy Ebel's essays and poetry have appeared in Self, More, Might, and the L.A. Times Sunday magazine. Her screenwriting credits include Cold Case, Law & Order: SVU, and the daytime drama Another World, for which she received Daytime Emmy and Writers Guild Award nominations. Her memoir-style blog, Fatherland: There's No Place Like Home, or, How and Why a Nice Jewish Girl Asked Germany to Take Her Back, chronicles her quest to restore her German citizenship. Ebel studied literature and creative writing at Barnard College. She is a first-generation American and a native New Yorker. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her family.
"Kathy Ebel is a writer of razor-sharp insight and uncommon wit, with an extraordinary ability to capture the textures of life -- the language and sensibilities and fashions that define a place and time. CLAUDIA SILVER TO THE RESCUE will transport you to New York City in the early 90s, and offers a richly detailed portrail of conflicted youth. This hugely enjoyable story manages to be funny, tense, and wise, all at once." --Chris Pavone, author of The Expats
