About the Author
Nancy Van Laan has written many books perfect for reading aloud, including "So Say the Little Monkeys; Little Fish, Lost; With a Whoop and a Holler, " an American Library Association Notable Book; and the 1990 Parents' Choice Award winner, "Possum Come a-Knockin'." She lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

GEORGE BOOTH was born and raised in Missouri. His parents were both teachers, and he has two brothers. He started cartooning while working at "The Leatherneck" as a staff cartoonist. He attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and Adelphi College on Long Island. George has also received an honorary doctorate of fine arts from Stony Brook State University of New York, and is an honorary member of Colgate University s class of 1939. He and his wife, Dione, live in Stony Brook, New York, with four cats: Skitter and Puddin (aka the YaYa Sisters), Jasper Jones, and Tank. His daughter works with a large newspaper in New York City. His art career has also led him to advertising campaigns, greeting cards, and animation.
