Sweet dreams! Judy Hindley's lulling text combines with Tor Freeman's soft illustrations to create this gentle, loving ode to favorite sleeping places.
When you're yawning and nodding and flopping and ready to fall in a heap, where do you choose for a nap or a snooze? Where is your favorite place to sleep? Would you like to sleep in a nest like a bird, or in a rose like a bee? How about lolling in the mud like a frog, or hanging upside down like a bat? Or maybe you're the type to seek out a cave made of quilts, or a warm comfy lap?
JUDY HINDLEY has written more than fifty children's books, including the hugely popular EYES, NOSE, FINGERS, AND TOES. Of SLEEPY PLACES, she says, "This book has been a true collaboration. I had a lot of jokey ideas about funny places to go to sleep, but my editor, Vanessa, coaxed and coaxed me until I found that sleepy, drowsy music. And then Tor turned it into something magical." Judy Hindley lives in Wiltshire, England.
TOR FREEMAN studied illustration at Kingston University in England. She is the author and illustrator of HOORAY, I'M FIVE TODAY! and ROAR! She says, "I loved SLEEPY PLACES the first time I read it - I felt that it was familiar to me and that my work would suit it. It was a very enjoyable text to illustrate." Tor Freeman lives in London.
