About the Author
Gertrude Chandler Warner was born in 1890 in Putnam, Connecticut, where she taught school and wrote The Boxcar Children because she had often imagined how delightful it would be to live in a caboose or freight car. Encouraged by its success, she went on to write eighteen more stories about the Alden Children.

Mike Dubisch is the illustrator of the middle reader series "Heir To Fire" from Actionopolis and the co-creator of the "Flesh Crawlers" comic mini-series from Kitchen Sink Press. A professional illustrator for 20 years, his work has also appeared in various magazines including "Realms of" "Fantasy "and" Science Fiction Age," as cover art for Dark Horse Comics' "Aliens vs Predator," and fantasy fiction role-playing games for "Beyond the Supernatural," "Dungeons and Dragons," "Rifts," "Star Wars," and Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time," He lives in upstate New York.
