In the spring of 1936, Margaret Mitchell's Gone With The Wind was an instant success. Mitchell won the Pulitzer Prize in 1937 and in 1939 the film won eight Academy Awards. Author Pat Conroy shares his connection to Mitchell's book. More at NPR.org
