About the Author
Italian journalist Rino Di Stefano studied political science at the University of Genoa before he was drafted and became a sergeant in the Bersaglieri Corp, later moving to Florida where he earned a degree in journalism. Upon returning to Italy, he began his writing career at Corriere Mercantile, an afternoon newspaper in Genoa. In 1982, he was hired by the Italian national newspaper, Il Giornale, and later joined the foreign staff in Milan and became the deputy editor-in-chief in Genoa editorial office. Recently retired, he continues to review books and is the author of six books: three essays, one translation and two novels. The essays are: The Zanfretta Case, in its fifth edition of which a television adaptation was broadcast; My dear Marion..., a historical essay about past Italian president Sandro Pertini; Beyond the Horizon, a collection of political essays about the life of past Italian minister Claudio Scajola. The translation is Alcibiades, translated from English into Italian of the work of Professor Walter M. Ellis of Loyola Marymount University of Los Angeles. The novels are The Viral Solution and The Orchid Shadow.
