Joys and Laments of Getting Older is a delightful collection of whimsical, wistful, and wise poetic observations. With humor and grace, EHR Schober notes the good and the bad, the enjoyable and lamentable experiences of getting older.
About the AuthorEHR Schober reaches out to older folk who need cheering, attends a lip-reading class, and enjoys the opera. She plants and weeds in her beloved garden, walks the hills of Los Angeles with her aging dog, and translates her insights into rhyming verse. Although she has had to cope with traumatic experiences (including incarceration at a concentration camp at an early age), she has developed a uniquely humorous and positive point of view. She still struggles with the past and faces today’s challenges that come with advancing age, yet she finds an affirmative outlook in the present and revels in life’s amusing twists.
MEM Schober , graphic artist, fine artist, and illustrator, is delighted to pick up pen and paper for this very special volume of poetry.
