About the Author
Eve Bunting was born in Ireland and came to California with her husband and three children. She is one of the most acclaimed and versatile children's book authors, with more than two hundred novels and picture books to her credit. Among her honors are many state awards, the Kerlan Award, the Golden Kite Award, the Regina Medal, the Mystery Writers of America and the Western Writers of America awards, and a PEN International Special Achievement award for her contribution to children's literature. In 2002, Ms. Bunting was chosen to be Irish-American Woman of the Year by the Irish-American Heritage Committee of New York.

Mary Ann Fraser has illustrated over 50 books and written and illustrated seven books, among them In Search of the Grand Canyon, Ten Mile Day, and Forest Fire, including her Where Are the Night Animals? in the Let's Read & Find Out series, an Outstanding Science Trade Book for Children. Interested in nature since she was very young, she keeps ten turtles, a newt and a crayfish as pets. Ms. Fraser lives in Simi Valley, CA.

Mary Ann Fraser is the acclaimed author and illustrator of many books for children, including Pet Shop Follies. Her other books include I. Q. Goes to School, How Animal Babies Stay Safe, and In Search of the Grand Canyon: Down the Colorado with John Wesley Powell, A School Library Journal Best Book of the Year. She lives in Simi Valley, California.
