About the Author
Eve Bunting was born in Ireland and came to California with her husband and three children. She is one of the most acclaimed and versatile children's book authors, with more than two hundred novels and picture books to her credit. Among her honors are many state awards, the Kerlan Award, the Golden Kite Award, the Regina Medal, the Mystery Writers of America and the Western Writers of America awards, and a PEN International Special Achievement award for her contribution to children's literature. In 2002, Ms. Bunting was chosen to be Irish-American Woman of the Year by the Irish-American Heritage Committee of New York.

May Ann Fraser has illustrated more than forty books for children, and is the author-illustrator of a growing list of popular middle-grade books that focus on U.S. history. Her "In Search of the Grand Canyon" was voted a Best Book of the Year by "School Library Journal" and "Ten Mile Day" was an "American Bookseller" Pick, of the Lists. A graduate of Exeter College of Art Design, she lives with her husband and three children in Simi Valley, California.

Mary Ann Fraser is the acclaimed author and illustrator of many books for children, including Pet Shop Follies. Her other books include I. Q. Goes to School, How Animal Babies Stay Safe, and In Search of the Grand Canyon: Down the Colorado with John Wesley Powell, A School Library Journal Best Book of the Year. She lives in Simi Valley, California.
