About the Author
PAT MORA is the author of more than twenty-five books for children, as well as numerous volumes for adults. She is a popular national speaker and the founder of the family literacy initiative El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), sponsored by ALA. Mora’s children’s books have won many honors, including the Pura Belpré Award, ALA Notable Books, Américas Award, Texas Bluebonnet Award Masterlist, Notable Social Studies Trade Books, and Notable Books for a Global Society. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.RAFAEL LÓPEZ grew up in Mexico City and his art is strongly influenced by the work of Mexican muralists. He has created many large murals for public spaces and was a leader in the creation of the Urban Art Trail Project in downtown San Diego. He lives in San Diego, California, with his wife and their son.
