I'm sort of retired, whatever that means. I live with my Bride, Bill-the-Cat and Kai the other cat, in our home in the Hills of beautiful Hilo. These days, my days include writing, reading, playing in the ocean, playing in the river that runs through our yard, doing the occasional house remodel, stained-glass art projects, playing with our kitties, keeping our Web sites up to date, riding my Harley nearly every day, and attending every Hawaiian cultural and other performance event we can. I love books and art galleries.

From Reader to Writer

I am a author, writer, and poet.

Ethan Bodnar is a graphic designer, author, and student who lives and works in the United States. He attends the Hartford Art School as a sophomore where he is working toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. He is the author of Creative Grab Bag (HOW Books, 2009) and publishes two blogs, one personal and one entitled Synthesis for the Hartford Art School. As an Eagle Scout, Ethan values the community, leadership and values that go into his work and life.

Except for one year when I lived in California, I have been a New York State resident all of my life. I have lived in Brooklyn, Queens, and upstate New York in Cortland and Vestal. My husband and I moved to the city of Buffalo so he could go to law school, where we lived for eight years. For eight years she lived in Rocky Point in Suffolk County. We have two grown daughters. Now living in Westchester, NY she has been there for the last fifteen years. I have over seventeen years of teaching experience and certification in Reading.

I am a late-blooming writer of children's books. Late blooming because I was an elementary teacher first but after taking a writing workshop with Margaret [Bunny] Gabel, at the New School in New York City over 30 years ago, I realized I was really meant to be a writer.
