I've been a writer of books and magazine articles since leaving Iowa City, Iowa in 1981, where I received an MFA (in poetry, 1979) from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. I grew up in Minneapolis, MN, and have lived in Tucson, AZ, Iowa City, IA, Portland, OR, Providence, RI, Northampton, MA, and now reside in Westchester, NY. I'm also a musician.
