Blue Elephant Book Shop is an independent, full-service bookstore with a complete, diverse inventory, outstanding customer service, comfortable surroundings, and a knowledgeable staff with more than 40 years combined bookstore experience. The store is so named because the owner has been a collector of books and elephants for a long time and her favorite color is blue.

Opened in March of 2008, Blue Elephant Book Shop is situated in a thriving retail section of Decatur. The store is striving to be active in the local community and welcomes the opportunity to host local and regional authors as well as national authors.

Blue Elephant Book Shop is a member of IndieBound (formerly BookSense), The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance, and The American Booksellers Association. We report our sales to The New York Times Bestseller List and the IndieBound Bestseller List.
