This is my candy store!

Rob and Harvey must have a secret psychic method on how to figure out what a reader will love. They somehow know what makes a reader tick, because every book suggestion they have ever given me turns out to be one of my favorites. If I'm ever in a rush, I know I can just go to Rob's favorites bookshelf. I can't ever lose there!

They are always ahead of the trend, which is important to me, as a book review blogger.

I have never felt so at home in a book store. It's personal.

They're the best!

Clinton Book Shop, Where Everybody Knows Your Name

Clinton Book Shop is the Cheers of booksellers.

I hung out with the crew at Clinton Books this past Saturday at one of our Liar's Club Truth Tour events. I spent a bunch of that time sitting out front with manager, Rob, in the rain, while he greeted every single person who passed the store, many of them by name. Funny, he was yelling across the street to people who were running to get out of the rain and they were stopping to holler back.

As the day went on I saw more and more of these personal connections as Meghan, Harvey and Rob seemed to know almost everybody who came in to check out the party. They exchanged thoughts with their customers about recent reads, and talked about previous and upcoming events in much the same way you'd talk to a friend about making weekend plans.

Clinton Book Shop reads books, so they know books. You'll see post-it notes on a bunch of books with cool bits about the stuff they liked about it.

Harvey supports local authors, has a ton of cool events on the calendar--for kids too, and provides the community with a place to buy--at competitive prices-- pretty much any book they'll hear about on TV or read about somewhere. Here's a link to their coming events: http://clinton.booksense.com/NASApp/store/IndexJsp?s=storeevents

I'd be stoked if Clinton was my local book shop. Can't wait to go back.

A Great Bookstore with a Terrific Staff

I've done a number of signings and events at Clinton Bookshop and it's alwaysb a blast. Harvey and Rob are booklovers above all else, which makes it rewarding to share book info and lore with them; and they go all out to make every event special. I love this store and give it my highest recommendation.
