DiMille’s: Family Owned and Operated Since 1978

The restaurant opened for business on October 28, 1978 under the direction and guidance of Mamma and Papa DiMille. The recipes for all the menu items were developed by Mamma DiMille which included the same recipes she had learned from her mother and grandmother, and had been cooking for her own family for years. During this time, all three boys were active as cooks, waiters, dishwashers, and handymen. It was also during this time that Papa DiMille taught the boys how to run a business.

It was in early 1981 that Mamma and Papa DiMille decided to step down and turn control of the business over to their sons. Since this time, DiMille’s has gone through two major remodels to keep up with the demand of its’ customers. The addition of the lounge and patio in 1988 were made to alleviate the long waits by customers as well as offering a new and exciting outdoor dining experience and an ideal facility for large banquets.

Today, the brothers are fully active in all areas of the restaurant, and take pride in every employee trained to their standards of excellence.

At DiMille’s we realize that you, as a customer, have everything to do with our growth. After all, it was our hard work that made the restaurant, but it was you, the customer that made us famous! We hope you have a great dining experience and come back to visit us again and again.
We love you San Diego!
