Local beer is best
Located in a renovated trolley station, this microbrewery opened in 1989 as the first legal brewery in Kansas in 100 years. Right next door to Libery Hall and La Prima Tassa, Free State Brewery is another quality indie business in historic downtown Lawrence, with great food...and even better beer.
Come on Monday nights for awesome deals: last time I was there, $1.75 pints all night for selected brews.
