It's Important!
Places such as the Garden District Book Shop gives us the opportunity to be closer to the book, the author, the story. We must support these houses of knowledge, a link to independence from "plasticville, USA". This doesn't mean you can never shop at the big boys, but be sure to buy from the independent shop whenever you can. This is the true "Main Street, USA" where "everyone knows your name". Time and again I hear folks say they are saddened by another small business closing and I want to ask them, "did you support them while they were here?".
Garden District's crew are knowledgeable, helpful and truly love books.
