I only recently just discovered this store. Wow. It took forever to find it as it is inside a small office type building which gives no hint on the outside of whats on the inside. - a 2 floor courtyard with some great resturants and this bookstore too.
While its a chain (pacific rim locations with the main office in Japan) SO what?!! This is the closest you will get to a indie japanese store. The has everything.. And I mean Everything.. If its been published, recorded, filmed - its there. tons of it. Every manga you can think of.. magazines.. its wild.. Why go all the way to Tokyo when you can come here instead? I spent hours there and i can't even read Japanese! Luckily there was a large english language fiction/history etc.. section for the rest of us.

(06/01/09)The Bryant Park NY location (1073 Ave of the Americas) of this store outdoes LA in size! Three large floors full of great books and music/dvds) A large selection of plush critters, toys, fabrics, notecards and papers et al. I found some cool stuff here for family and friends.

Specialties: asian, Japanese culture, language
