Half movie theater, half concert hall, this grand, old-timey venue represents the best of independent businesses: it fills a niche in Lawrence as the only small movie theater, and does so with unique charm. Art movies, folk and indie rock shows, beautiful astrological murals, creaky velvet seats, and my favorite touch--local beer on tap at the concession counter.

Liberty Hall also has a video rental store full of cult films as well as new releases.
