"Part of the appeal of Lucky Garden is the secret handshake bit. I'm a sucker for that 'in the know' thing. Before, I might have come in and ordered Lucky Garden's very finest chop suey, and it would have been better than most chop suey around Rhode Island, but now, in possession of the code, I can come in and say, 'Hong Kong menu, please.' And then, like the sudden shift to color in The Wizard of Oz, the world becomes a brighter place. Tastier, too, thanks to dishes like the taro preserved duck.
