Given its odd location (in the crush of stores in Grand Central, right next to a chain drugstore) a pleasantly idiosyncratic indie. Those who come on weekday evenings have the added bonus of conversing with legendary East Village poet and activist Ron Kolm -- just look for the very tall man with glasses -- who is a walking history of NYC bohemia and go-to guy for eccentric recommendations and good-hearted humor. -- Mike Lindgren
