Fantastic Find in Birmingham, AL

If you plan on stopping by Reed Books, make sure you cancel your afternoon appointments. Because your trip will last longer than you planned.

Reed Books is bursting at the seams with books, posters, ephemera, slides, photos, postcards, memorabilia, etc. It is amazing what you can find inside. I have walked out of Reed's knowing I got a bargain with my $5 book and I've walked out with a $30 book that made me just as happy because of the "I can't believe I found this" moment!

For the amount of books in there, they are amazingly well grouped. Crowding shelves and stacked near ceiling high.

I really enjoyed Reed Books back when it was in its old "loft location", but I have to admit that the new store and its space as a very good flow to it and I might even like it better.

Reed Books has a great amount of old children's books and southern fiction, if those strike your fancy.
