Shrine of the Black Madonna

Business Type: Bookstore

5309 M.L. King Blvd.
Houston, Texas

The Shrine of the Black Madonna is an African American owned bookstoor in Third Ward, Houston, TX. There is a small black holocaust museum inside that is modest and overpowering. The shrine is a wonderful bookstore that sells books on black history, revolutionary figures, activists...the list goes on. It is perfect for any and EVERYone (not just black people) because it has an honest and vast collection of our histories, struggles, accomplishments, ideas and imaginations. I love the shrine and encourage everyone to go at least once.
