A beautiful, historic theater that was lovingly renovated a few years ago. There are now three screens. Each area has comfortable seating, floor and balcony seats. They show current movies at reasonable prices. The Strand Theater is a local, independent treasure.

everything old new again
When I was a kid, I went to this movie theater....behind the old A&P market where we'd grind our own peanut butter, just a short walk from my house. I remember there just being one movie shown at a time, and I don't think we were ever allowed to sit in the balcony! The seats we did sit in were covered with a red velvet-type material, scrolled arms on the chairs, the popcorn and candy right there in the front room.
Now I go there with my own child, we drive from thirty miles away, our choice of three movies, reclining seats, two popcorn and candy stations.
I miss the old theater...and my son loves the new.
