The Gnu's Room has a great selection of used and out-of-print books as well as new titles. The atmosphere is eclectic, cozy and inviting, and the coffee is excellent. The store supports local and regional authors, artists, poets and musicians through store events, and publishes a monthly "Gnu's Letter" via email, that provides information about the events along with some literary trivia. The Gnu's Room hopes to emulate the coffee house atmosphere of the 1960's to become a place where people gather to have great conversations and learn from one another - to be a place where creativity flows and everyone is welcome to enjoy a "Gnu" experience.
Specialties: local interest, New Books, organic tea, out-of-print books, primavera coffee, used books

Books, Coffee, and Community
Best coffee shop i've ever been in.
The coffee was already fantastic (the baristas here don't rush and the coffee is consistently excellent as a result) but it's gonna get better. They're now roasting their own beans in house!
I've moved out of Alabama and miss this place. If you find your self in Auburn or driving past, it's worth a stop. Really good coffee at really good prices and a phenomenal atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.

My Favorite Spot in Auburn
The Gnu's Room is my favorite place to go in Auburn. It has a friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere...along with some of the best coffee I have ever had! They are really community oriented and offer a wide range of fun events featuring musicians, writers, etc. from all over the place...many from the local area and some from as far away as New Zealand!
It's certainly a unique spot here in Auburn and it's most definitely worth stopping by and spending a few hours checking out their great book selection and getting a coffee or two.
