An elite bookstore specializing in hard-to-find architecture and design books and periodicals, run under the auspices of the Municipal Art Society of New York. Tucked inside the palazzo-like Villard House in a courtyard cunningly sequestered from the hell of midtown, the tiny store is crammed with stacks of beautifully illustrated monographs, obscure journals, and many other forms of highbrow eye candy. There are usually a couple of furry young clerks who are very friendly and helpful.
