I love the fact that the owner of the store retired and moved from LA to Oakhurst only to discover that the closest bookstore was 45 miles away, so she decided to open her own. It's a lovely store that has become embedded in the artistic community by display local art, having author or artist talks every Saturday and sponsoring writing and book groups. Monica, the owner, recently worked with Applewood Books to re-publish a Bret Harte out-of-print book to sell at the store. A delightful place to stop on the way to Yosemite.
