Perhaps it's my own lack of experience talking, but I feel perfectly comfortable saying that this is the perfect wine store. Wines Off Wynkoop embodies everything local and independent retailers are meant to be. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and remember your name and your likes and dislikes. The selection is just that: a selection. Not half a dozen jam-packed aisles of every bottle of wine they can afford to stock, but a reasonably sized selection of carefully and expertly chosen options. I really can walk in and buy something based on price and/or cool label (let's face it: how many of us can do any better?), because I know that anything in their store will be worth drinking. And if I do have any "special needs," I can just say, for instance, "So, what can I get in the $10-20 range that goes with a really fancy macaroni and cheese?" (I did this once, and their choice was perfect -- and they made sure to ask what types of cheeses were involved.)

I just can't praise them enough. Stop by and give yourself a treat.
