About Me:

A former sailor turned Roman Catholic seminarian turned teacher turned undertaker and perpetual bibliophile.

I have worn many different hats in my 37 short years of mortal existence and regret none. Earned a BA in English after a four-year tour in the US Navy then studied for the priesthood for several years. Taught Theology at Jesuit High in New Orleans and then English at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. Earned an AS in Mortuary Science and now work as a licensed embalmer / funeral director at a family-owned, independent funeral home.

Love, love, love to read and still maintain some semblance of literary engagement when not burying the dead by putting my own hand to writing poetry, essays, short stories, etc. Fortunate enough to even see some of my work in print from time to time.

Developed an interest in collecting chapbooks a few years back, which has led to the printing and handmaking of my own humble chapbooks under the name of Blue Chicory Press -- a rather Spartan page can be found at http://www.myspace.com/bluechicorypress
