About Me:
Carla Masterson
Carla Jo Masterson was born December 8, 1950 in Seattle, Washington. She started her singing career at a
very young age performing on stage with her mother and her younger brother during church services. She
continued singing all through her school years, performing in school plays, as well as on school TV. She started
her professional career in 1967 at Jacques Night Club in Roswell, New Mexico performing with the group,
" The Commodores Plus One."
In September 1974, Carla recieved the precious gift of becoming a mother. She gave birth to a beautiful baby
boy. She named him Jason Matthew.
1974 to 1978 Carla continued her singing career and was a featured at the Tropicana Hotel, Castaways,
Silver City, El Jardin, The Hacienda, The Land Mark, The Ambassador Inn, Caesars Palace, Improvisation,
and singing her original music at The Aladdin Theater Of The Performing Arts. In 1979 and 1980 Carla
returned to perform with the musical group, SOFT SOUND AND FINE COLOR. They recorded an album
titled, "Soft Sound and Fine Color"
1981 to 1983 her career would change direction, Carla started to perform with a select group known as the
Las Vegas Chamber Choir. During that time she performed with world famous pop singers,
Paul Anka and Barry Manilow. Also, she was on The Jerry Lewis Telethon twice. Through the years Carla
has also performed extensively with Native American flutes.
In 1993 Carla's life would transform forever. She was ask to write a children's book about feelings. After she
passionately said, "yes!" The seed for Carla's first children's book was planted.
Carla's dream of being a published author would become a reality, in February of 2006. She founded
and started her own publishing company Harmony Soup Incorporated and published her first children's book;

illustrated beautifully by Artist, Omra Jo Fochtman.
She has also written a movie script, based on first book and is in the process of getting it funded.
Since Valentines Day of 2006 Carla has completed 164 book signings. Her book is being used in
66 public schools by guidance counselors, teachers, principals and librarians. Her book can also be checked
out in the Clark County District Libraries.
Harmony Soup Inc. is in the process of getting 7 more of her books published :- )
Carla still writes and composes her own music.
In 1999 Carla recorded a CD with the wonderful pianist Randall Leonard titled;
Pastrorale for the Winged Ones.
The purpose of Carla's books are to remind us all, "that no matter what happens to any of us, our feelings have
always been meant for constructive reasons and not destructive ones."
