My being an avid reader started before entering grade school. I particularly enjoy fictional books and have gotten through some very difficult times by losing myself in the lives of others when I needed a respite from my daily life.
I recently self-published a book, MOMMA AND ME, a memoir about my mother's and my having gone through cancer simultaneously. It can be found at all online bookstores and some local, independently owned bookstores. (It is not carried at the major brick-and-mortar stores because I didn't purchase a "returnability" package.) I offer myself as a guest/motivational speaker at various cancer related activities in my area and with continued success of the book hope to expand my speaking engagements outward across the country.
My real dream, now that I have successfully raised my children, is to write children's books. That's a hard nut to crack, as due to costs I am unable to self-publish and so must rely on the traditional publishing companies.
