Neal Knox - The Gun Rights War is a collection of my father's writing about Second Amendment issues. I selected the articles that make up this book from almost forty years worth of columns, essays, articles, and notes written from the inside of the never-ending fight for the right to keep and bear arms. I added annotations and some historical context along the way.

In case you haven't heard of him, here's a bit about Neal Knox. As a gun writer and magazine editor Neal Knox long recognized that if law-abiding Americans wanted to keep their guns, they needed to pay attention to the legislative process. Over the years he became a leader in the defense of the Second Amendment. His principled defense of the Second Amendment sometimes ran counter to the desires of congressional leaders, government bureaucracies, and even the leadership of the NRA itself.

Neal Knox died in early 2005 after a year-long battle with colon cancer. My family, especially my brother Jeff and our mother Jay, continue the work he started with The Firearms Coalition.

I had been working with Dad on this and another book project before we knew he was sick. After dad's death, we figured the best thing to do was to concentrate on the compilation book. Once I get the sales of The Gun Rights War on track, I'll take the time to work on the political how-to book that Dad and I had talked about.
