It's from the late 1970's when we were testing stereo headphones at CU. I designed this apparatus to hold a 1/8-inch probe microphone in the tragus notch of a series of (willing!) subjects, so we could measure the intra-concha pressure response, which was then processed through a reverse diffuse-field transform to determine the perceived spectral accuracy.
