Indigo Bridge Books is committed to the promotion of reading, learning and creativity among the community children by providing good books, story time and artistic activities in a welcoming, fun environment. We are partnering with local schools and community resources to sponsor reading and writing incentive programs.

Indigo Bridge Books intends to provide "bridge building" events for individuals of various cultures, economic levels and backgrounds to foster a sense of community through discussion groups and lectures as well as bilingual events and story times.

The business maintains a focus on social justice by the activities and events hosted as well as the books promoted. These encompass both local and global issues by supporting other like-minded local businesses and by showcasing international events.

An emphasis is placed on early reading skills and community service through a partnership with the Impact Learning Center (project of City Impact, a local ministry for families in Lincoln's urban neighborhoods) which pairs reading mentors with first and second grade children from underserved public schools and has resulted in sighnificantly improved reading skills.
