Bob is beset by bullies early on (until their leader becomes enamored of his sister!) and Grandma's outhouse comes into play (not so ha-ha this time). Every chapter has funny moments, mostly instigated by Grandma's eccentric will. The real meaning of Christmas is demonstrated by Grandma Dowdel (who doesn't believe in celebrating Christmas-there's inflation to consider!) and some surprises at the end.
