About Me:
The picture is a little out of date but I still maintain that passion for beets.
I'm currently working on a MFA in digital art & new media at UCSC. I work at Bookshop Santa Cruz. And I do freelance web work to pay the bills I accumulate from the education and can't pay off by doing what I love.
I'm very passionate about my worm bins. I know this makes me weird. I love gardening despite only having a small container garden to work with.
I love photography, both black and white traditional develop your own film and digital expensive print it on those crazy printers who cost more to feed than I do.
I love Science fiction and fantasy. That's my section at work and I'm never happier than when I'm planning great displays and seeing what books people actually bought.
I just got in to geocaching, which increases my score by 5 geekpoints. Getting out into the wonderful world of nature and going on treasure hunts is right up my alley. Maybe I can start leaving people books in the caches, then I could do the bookcrossing and bump that score by 10!
I also play on a dart team. We're the only all girl team currently in the SCCDA and the first one ever in A-League. We're the Tarts with Darts and I hope we do well this season.

No real regrets here either
Other than tutoring for the university and one short stint as a research assistant, I've never had a job that required me to really use my degree. There's not many partial differential equations in bookselling--at least not at my level. Good luck with the grandson, I hope he learns to enjoy math instead of suffering through it.

There are a few suspected
Personally, I've never had the pleasure of dealing with the Lemurians. But I suspect they are silent partners in several of the business downtown, especially the ones with all those crystals.
If they had an alliance, would it be the OutieBound, what with all the flying saucers they're supposed to have?

re: half failing to put my math degree to work
I, too, have a math degree. Got it in 1970, then spent all but the first four years as a bookseller. No regrets and I get to tutor my grandson in pre-calc this year.
