Greetings, fellow vegan food lover!
My note has nothing to do with food, but I thought it a catchy title.
Where did the "top points people" go? Where did the "new stores and members" go?
Patiently yours,

Obviously, I logged on during the two seconds that they weren't visible. My, you're quick on the admin arse-kicking.

doing an indie 100 tour
Dear Paige,
I wanted to ask a question. My name is Marc Fitten and I'm an IndieNext author for May. I went to Winter Institute and learned a TON about indie bookstores and the buy local initiative being pushed.
I'll be going on a book tour on both coasts, but my idea was -- seperate from the tour -- I want to visit 100 independents around the country and blog about them -- and also maybe pitch it as a story to something larger. I'm also writing an op-ed series on the economy for the NYT, so this fits perfectly.
It would be a feature on the indies, a short profile of each store and maybe the owners talking about concrete things they have done that have impacted local communities and economy.
Does this seem like a worthwhile project to you? I was hoping maybe you guys might help me get the word out about it to bookstores. I can cold-call and ask if I can come in while I'm in the neighborhood but it'll take forever that way.
Would it be possible to arrange a phone call to talk about it?
Best,
Marc Fitten
