About Me:
I'm a parent, bookseller, gardener, graphic designer and was calling myself a Jack-of-all-trades until Neil Gaiman added a new meaning for that phase in The Graveyard Book (so now I'm a Jack-of-many-trades). Also an Irish ex-patriot living in the mountains of WNC.
I work for the independent publisher Unbridled Books, where I organize tours for our fabulous authors (like J. Quinn Malott and Eric Barnes). I'm also a part-time bookseller for a fab indie in Asheville, NC.
I'm on indiebound because I believe we should all support independent publishers and authors at our neighborhood independent bookstores, and also because indiebound makes my travels go better by helping me find the great indie coffee houses.

Thanks
thanks for the note. i too am a parent but my children are 19 & 24, yes i started young.... i keep looking for the feel of malaprops in all the indies in the atlanta area but haven't found it yet. one day, my dream is to move to colorado and either open an indie bookstore or work in one. for now, the big box b & n is what pays my bills as a community relations manager but i really would be happier hand selling books and talking with customers everyday.....

Atlanta
Hi Carla,
I'm a Borders refugee, myself. There used to be a great little bookstore in Atlanta (possibly in an area called "little Five Points") many years ago (12 or 13). I think it was LGBT and had a coffee shop attached. Anyway, it's probably gone now, but left a good impression.
Good luck with your master plan.

Little Five Points
Rich, I remember that bookstore you "speak of" ... I was there back in the early 90s. It was a nice place. With all those ex-pat-New Yorkers down in Asheville, I really need to check it out sometime. Cheers! Jon
charis books
i live within 5 miles from it in decatur. it is lgbt and i love that little bookstore, it's on my page. only problem is that they never hire and if they do only for part time minimum wage which i can't support myself on. but i shop there and attend their events all the time, a lot of good authors and open mic as well as book groups.....

Very glad to know they're still there. Must add it to the list for my next ATL trip.
