About the Author
Russell James grew up on Long Island, New York and spent too much time watching Chiller, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, and The Twilight Zone, despite his parents' warnings. Bookshelves full of Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe didn't make things better. He graduated from Cornell University and the University of Central Florida. After a tour flying helicopters with the U.S. Army, he now spins twisted tales best read in daylight. He has written the paranormal thrillers Dark Inspiration, Sacrifice, Black Magic, Dark Vengeance, Dreamwalker, and Q Island. His successful Grant Coleman sci-fi series includes Cavern of the Damned, Monsters on the Clouds, and Curse of the Viper King. He has four short story collections, Tales from Beyond, Outer Rim, Forever Out of Time, and Deeper into Darkness. His wife reads what he writes, rolls her eyes, and says "There is something seriously wrong with you." They live in Florida with two untrainable cats. Reviews
"Well, this book is almost the ultimate in good versus evil. The characters are exquisitely drawn, and you cannot stop cheering them on in their mission."--Beyond the Books
"I Would describe The Portal as action packed, DARK and Violent. As well as sinister, upsetting and shocking. It needs to be read with the lights on."--One More Word
If you are looking for a creepy book which takes an in depth look at good versus evil and how even good people sometimes are led to do bad things, then definitely pick up The Portal."--Booker Ts Farm
"This book is one that will have you on the edge of your seat [..]. Five stars for a read that had me up all night and watching comedy movies for a few days after."
