About the Author

Ryan and Evie Cordell live near Boston, Massachusetts, with their five children. Their two daughters, Cadence and Emerson, inspired this story when they posted a picture online about wanting a puppy and got nearly four million "likes" on Facebook. When they're not writing picture books, Ryan teaches American literature at Northeastern University and Evie is a photographer.

Maple Lam is a little sister, claims to be number one, and causes no trouble at all—just like the little sister in this book.

She loved drawing pictures and writing stories when she was young, and she loves it even more today.

Maple lives in Southern California with her family. This is the first book she has written and illustrated.
