Description

H. A. Rey and his wife, Margret, first introduced young readers to the big-hearted, fun-loving troublemaker-hero Curious George in 1941. In this two-hundred-page hardcover treasury, Curious George fans will find eight stories based on the popular primate, painted in Rey’s original watercolor and charcoal style: Curious George Goes to a Chocolate Factory (1998), Curious George and the Puppies (1998), Curious George Makes Pancakes (1998), Curious George Feeds the Animals (1998), Curious George Goes to a Movie (1998), Curious George and the Hot Air Balloon (1998), Curious George in the Snow (1998), and Curious George’s Dream (1998). A five-page essay about the author-illustrator team closes this appealing collection of adventures for Curious George fans young and old.

About the Author

Hans and Margret Rey created many books during their lives together, including Curious George, one of the most treasured classics of all time, as well as other favorites like Spotty and Pretzel. But it was their rambunctious little monkey who became an instantly recognizable icon. After the Reys escaped Paris by bicycle in 1940 carrying the manuscript for the original Curious George, the book was published in America in 1941. More than 200 Curious George titles followed, with 75 million books sold worldwide. Curious George has been successfully adapted into a major motion picture and an Emmy-winning television show on PBS.
