About the Author
The author grew up in Annapolis, Maryland but has spent most of his adult life working overseas. First as a young officer in the US Naval Reserve in the mid 1960s, then as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Peru, and later as a Peace Corps staff member in Ecuador and the Dominican Republic. In 1984, he joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a cooperatives/rural organization officer promoting rural credit unions, agricultural cooperatives and farmer organizations in Latin America, Africa and Asia. He retired from FAO service in 2004. Since then, he has dedicated most of his time to farming and to writing. His novel Sendero is partly based on his experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in an isolated valley in the mountains of southern Peru. He currently lives and writes in Rome, Italy.
