A simple three-step process to clean and prepare your model for painting is covered along with invaluable guidance on dealing with faults and paint problems. Clear instruction on the pros and cons of the different ways to produce lines is given. Tips to help you produce consistent fine lines with a bow pen and how to get the best out of transfers and the different types available are all covered.

Finally, there are basic weathering techniques included that use a variety of methods. With over 500 colour photographs, this lavishly illustrated book provides guidance on how to transform your model from its bare structure to a realistic finish.

About the Author

Geoff Haynes is a professional master model maker. His interest in railways dates back to his childhood with a traditional clockwork 00 gauge train set. He started making plastic aircraft kits at the age of 10, which was when he first learned to use an airbrush. By the age of 12 he had progressed to building railway models. After a career in both the financial services industry, and later in education, he decided to make his hobby his business in 2015. He builds and paints models to order, but is taking in an increasing number of painting and lining commissions.
