Description

Where the water churns with salmon, thick and rich with leaping fishes, there the brown bear stands and catches the wild king of the river.

With stunning watercolour paintings, this lyrical picture book describes eight bears from all over the world, all shown in their wild habitats: Black Bear, Polar Bear, Sloth Bear, Spectacle Bear, Sunbear, Panda, Moonbear, Brown Bear.

But which is the best bear of all? Your own teddy bear of course!

Praise For Something About a Bear

"Jackie Morris' stunning watercolour paintings have already adorned some superb books about wild creatures and this one is equally beautiful - every painting ¿ Lyrical text accompanies the pictures and aach bear also has a fact file. Wonderful!"

"Bears are, of course, a picture book perennial, but nowhere do they get such stunning treatment as the eight bears depicted here.  Lyrical and beautiful, in a foil-jacketed hardback."

â??Her lyrical texts and spectacular watercolours make Morris stand out as one of the most distinctive picture-book creators working today. This is a beautiful celebration of that perennial favourite, the bear, in a gift-friendly foulard and jacketed edition.â??

â??Jackie Morrisâ??s gorgeous, double-page-spread artwork is accompanied by suitably grand, noble and lyrical prose about each kind of bear featured. And at the back, for the information hungry, there is a more prosaic paragraph of description. Another lovely book from this picture book artist.'
