Geophysicist and adventurer Alex Cave discovers an ancient alien laboratory under the North Pacific Ocean. He manages to get inside and meets Seti, an artificial intelligence in charge of recording the data from five experiments, but she finds Alex attractive and tricks him into entering the parallel universe experiment.

Alex finds himself in a society decades ahead of his reality, and this Jadin is slightly different than the one he loves. He discovers this society has gone to extremes to save the geniuses who make their lives worth living. The problem is Alex won't accept their lies and needs to get back to his own reality.
