Brazos Bookstore

Brazos Bookstore has been Houston's premier literary bookseller since 1974, making us Houston's oldest independent bookstore. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary in 2024 and we are shining the light on the community that built us by hosting events designed to give back to the city that has supported us each month in our 50th year. We aim to connect all readers with the best contemporary and classic literature, non-fiction, and books for children. Brazos brings 300+ events each year to Houston (including Pulitzer Prize- and National Book Award-winners and Nobel Laureates), with book clubs, author events, social functions, virtual events, story times, and regular programming for kids. As a hub for the most creative, intelligent and engaged readers in Houston, we offer programs and curate our shelves to inspire and expand the horizons of our curious readers.
