Quite a find in Denver

I don't live in the Denver area, but have family that do. "Everyone knows about Tattered Cover" was their response when I asked about the store. I can tell from the website they offer various programs for the public and are indeed a well-rounded retailer. If they don't have a book you want, they will find it. I can't wait to visit personally next time I'm in Colorado to see my grandkids

Tattered Cover, LoDo

This store has one fine independent movie program, great author meet-and-greet programs, and of course, readings. One distinctive activity this particular bookstore did was to publish, in large poster format, the statement the owner wrote declaring that they refused to hand over their customer list when Homeland Security came knocking, asking for a list of what customers read certain books for "investigative" purposes shortly after September 11, 2001 and the passage of the Patriot Act. The were involved in a lawsuit about this issue and, with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), WON! The case was pretty high-profile in the area and gave me faith and hope that the small businesses and liberty can prevail!
