In celebration of Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 27, independent bookstores have been sharing their plans, including special events, speakers, and bookshop crawls. If you are interested in partnering with a store or want to connect to learn more about their plans, feel free to reach out.

The Snail on the Wall 

The Snail on the Wall will host a Pop-up Bookstore at Constitution Hall Park, in downtown Huntsville. Find event details on our event page.

Book Cranny is celebrating Indie Bookstore Day the whole month of April as part of the Colorado Indie Bookstore Passport! Lakeland Independent Booksellers are hosting the 3rd Annual week long, city-wide Lakeland Book Crawl from April 22–27, 2024. The goal of the book crawl is to bring booksellers, book lovers, and the greater Lakeland community together. Stop at each store throughout the week and meet the owners and staff, purchase books from local booksellers, and receive discounts and promotions while enjoying the unique experience each bookstore has to offer! Novel Tea Book Shop

We will be hosting Indie Authors all day! We will rotate out about 10–12 local indie authors for book signings.

Third House Books

We're hosting small party with readers celebrating our 8th indie bookstore day (& a funeral, since the shop space will close the following week).

Tombolo Books

We will be open our regular hours, 10:00 am – 5:30 pm, with fun Indie Bookstore Day happenings both in the bookstore and out in our courtyard! 

Special Indie Bookstore Day merch will be available all day while supplies last, plus a kids' book sale and Mammamia Gelato pop-up in the courtyard!

10:30 am: Bring your kiddos over for a special storytime with author Natalia Sylvester! Natalia will be reading from her new picture book A Maleta Full of Treasures!

The Sparks cast will be performing When the Tuba Shows Up, It's a Party!  written by Sheila Cowley and illustrated by Creative Clay!

The performance includes a celebration friendship, family and music with actor Stephanie Roberts, Tuba player Kendrick Wilson and the Creative Clay dancers.

Join Agnes Scott College student Jada Richardson to learn the powerful history of zines, how to create zines of different formats for different purposes, and leave with a zine of your own at Charis Books and More. The Book Burrow

Pflugerville’s The Book Burrow To Participate In Independent Bookstore Day & The Austin Texas Book Trail, April 27

(Pflugerville, TX) – In addition to the national Indie Bookstore Day event, local organizers have created the Austin TX Book Trail, a bookstore crawl across Austin and its surrounding towns, featuring other local staples such as Book People, Austin Books and Comics, South Congress Books, and more — in addition to The Book Burrow.

The Book Burrow is offering 10% off for anyone who comes into the store as part of the bookstore crawl and plans to have a photo booth, snacks, and other special events and activities to celebrate Indie Bookstore Day and the Austin TX Book Trail.

The events also happen to fall on the same day as Slice of Pflugerville, an art and food festival in downtown Pflugerville, which should collectively make Pflugerville an exciting place to be on April 27.

Fabled Bookshop & Cafe

Our theme is "Reading Builds a Neighborhood" and we are having a beautiful day in the neighborhood with all things Mr. Rogers! We will have giveaways, t-shirts, special drinks, a silent auction, puppet show for story-time, and more!

The Novel Narwhal

We will be having a celebration at our store, which is part of the Market at Roanoke. We will participate in the Golden Ticket, have a sidewalk sale outside the store, offer treats to visitors, and do a pop-up shop at Funky Picnic.

The Book Bungalow

We're participating in the year-long Indie Bookstore Day Utah Bookstores Crawl and offering a $100 gift card to anyone that starts their journey from our store on Independent Bookstore Day and gets their map stamped at every other participating Utah bookstore before Indie Bookstore Day 2025.

We're featuring three authors for book signings on our front porch: J. Scott Savage (Graysen Foxx, Lost Wonderland Diaries, Mysteries of Cove, and Farworld) from 10:00 am to noon; Kim Foster (The Meth Lunches) from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm; and Steve Capone, Jr. (Max in the Capital of Spies). And besides free giveaways every hour, we're having a special Story Time all about books, bookstores, and reading.

Under the Umbrella Bookstore

We are running Indie Bookstore Day Representation BINGO through April 27 and will hold a scavenger hunt for in store on April 27.


Maple Tree Book Shop + Coffee House

We plan to have a spirit week leading up to Indie Bookstore Day with dress-up days, local musicians, and pre-celebration sales. On Saturday, we will have local authors stopping in to be "Booksellers for a Day" to share about their books and other books they love. Our local librarians will be joining us for a special storytime. We will have giveaways and sales throughout the day and a photo wall for visitors to take selfies and share on social media. We are looking forward to our first Indie Bookstore Day!
